Photography Theater Studio Gallery

Photography as a discrete art form can stand alone. But what if we take a step back from the image for a moment to consider it in the context of the Body who is making the Image: internal factors, sociological encampment, performative aspects. Some of my Photography is standalone, and shown in the manner of regular white-wall gallery visual presentation. (Please do enjoy that particular portfolio.) But a large factor in my development as a Photo Artist was that my commitment to the craft came about as I was developing content for my personal blog, and happened upon Flickr as a potential platform for photo storage and cross-posting to Blogger in 2006. The Flickr 365 Days Self-Portrait group had just begun. I joined Flickr, and subsequently 365 Days. I committed myself both to that project, and also to the general task of further developing my photography craft. Already committed to the personal storytelling of independent publishing, I found myself considering my context sociologically. Not only was my Photography on display, but so too was my personal life and behind-the-scenes aspects of my creative endeavor—in fact, that even was what was being seen.
